(9/30/10)  If your community participates in the National Flood Insurance Program and you experienced structural flooding in regulatory floodplain zones, as identified on your floodplain maps, you will need to inspect each recently flooded building in the identified Special Flood Hazard Area (SFHA). It is important to inspect flood-damaged properties as soon as possible after a flood because property owners will be eager to initiate repairs and may not realize the need for a permit for most repair work in the floodplain.  Click here for the full announcement and contact information from FEMA/WDNR.
