2022 Recorded District MeetingsBoard of Review Certification Training
Starting this year, at least one BOR member must be certified every year. Lawmakers made this change from “every two years” to every year as a strategy to increase the accuracy and efficiency of the assessment process. As is evident in both recent lawsuits and legislative attempts this winter, the assessment process is under constant pressure. WTA recommends all BOR members and preferably all town board members attend this training. A fully educated group of town officials will help you avoid pitfalls and keep you abreast of any law changes.
Department of Revenue Board of Review Video
WTA has provided dozens of trainings on ARPA basics. This session will cover any additional information, such as final guidance, when it is made available by the Department of Treasury.
Bipartisan Infrastructure Law
The federal infrastructure bill invests over $1 billion in new funding for roads and bridges over the next 5 years. Furthermore, for the first time, town roads classified as minor collectors and local are eligible for funding. The program will provide details on the Federal Fiscal Year 2022 and 2023 grant opportunities recently announced by WisDOT.
Assessment System Management
Due to the increased focus on assessment and BOR practices, Department of Revenue (video); Luke Martell, Municipal Law and Litigation Group (video); and WTA (in person) will focus on the most frequent errors to avoid when conducting your BOR and generally managing your assessment system.
