Town of Darien is seeking experienced Building Inspector to assist our community of 1,876 located in Walworth County about 10 minutes from the Illinois border and 10 minutes from Rock County.

This independent contractor will be responsible for enforcing codes, laws, rules and regulations, municipal ordinances and state building codes. Additional requirements the position include controlling and ensuring proper safe building construction, inspection of existing buildings, structures, and components thereof ensure they are maintained in a safe manner. Wisconsin Department of Commerce credentials in the following categories is preferred: UDC-Construction, UDC – Electrical, UDC-HVAC. License in Commercial Building, Commercial Electrical, and Commercial Plumbing is a plus. Background or knowledge of zoning is preferred. Starting salary TBD.
