Forester Limited Term Employees (LTE’s) – Timber

Oneida County is looking for two individuals to establish timber sales in stands which are ready for harvest.  This includes pre-sale assessment and cruising, developing silvicultural prescriptions, establishing boundary lines, marking of trees to be harvested, final cruise and volume determinations, preparing all necessary paperwork including timber sale map, prospectus etc. and regeneration plans if needed.  These positions will also update timber compartment reconnaissance maps through independent field inventory, office analysis of collected field data, compartment map updating via aerial photography and computerized data entry including updating of WISFIRS data and maps.  This position is scheduled for 1000 hours at $15.29 per hour between May 23, 2016 and December 1, 2016.  Starting and ending dates are flexible. 

Qualified individual must have an Associates degree, Bachelor’s degree (or entering Senior year) in Forest Management or Natural Resources field OR 4 years work experience in forest management and measurement, timber sale establishment, timber stand reconnaissance and basic forestry surveying and mapping techniques. Invasive Species Technician Limited Term Employees (LTE’s) - Timber

Oneida County is accepting applications for an LTE position with the Oneida County Forestry Department.  This position includes surveying for and documenting the location of terrestrial invasive plant species in the Oneida County Forest and Park System, conducting control and eradication activities of invasive plant species and developing invasive species management plans.  This position is scheduled for approx. 600 hours at $15.29 per hour between May 30, 2016 and September 16, 2016.  Starting and ending dates are flexible. 

Qualified applicants must have a bachelor’s degree or entering Senior year or Associates Degree or two years practical work experience in Agriculture, Horticulture, Biology or a related Natural Resources field relating to terrestrial invasive plant species.  Knowledge and experience working with ArcGIS 10X software and Microsoft Office.  A pesticide applicator’s license or certificate is desirable but not required.  Must have experience using GPS units and downloading data to GIS mapping software.  Must be willing to work outside under harsh environmental conditions, possess the ability to work independently, lift moderate weight, walk long distances on un-even ground, and communicate effectively with public. Must possess a valid Wisconsin Driver’s License, and be experienced with the operation of chainsaw, ATV, and 4-wheel drive pick-up truck.

Due to a retirement, the town of Vienna in North Central Dane County has an opening for a part-time Deputy Clerk/Deputy Treasurer.  Responsibilities will include Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll Processing, and covering the office while the Clerk is gone.  The schedule can be flexible depending on the candidate, but Mondays will be required and a 12-16 hours/week should be expected with the possibility of more hours when staff is on vacation or sick.  One evening meeting per month may be required and this position will report to the Town Clerk and Town Treasurer.  The pay range is $14-$18/hour and there are no benefits provided.

Position performs first level supervision, training, development and evaluation of personnel in the Support Services Division for the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office.  This is responsible, supervisory work engaged in performing clerical duties.  Position is the initial contact for open records questions, will be responsible for managing Incident Based Reporting (IBR) for the Sheriff’s Office, and assists the Office Administrator with assessing the needs of the Division, identifying problems, and recommending solutions or corrective actions.    Position requires a considerable need for judgment skills and a high degree of accuracy.  Candidates must have the ability to exercise sound leadership skills, willingness to supervise others and assume responsibility, ability to organize and prioritize work and exercise initiative.

Oneida County in Rhinelander, Wisconsin is seeking candidates for a Highway Commissioner/Solid Waste Director.  This is a full time position which plans and directs work of the County Highway and Solid Waste Departments requiring independent judgment and thorough knowledge of all factors affecting road construction and maintenance; short and long term planning; solid waste disposal program including landfill site operation, public education and alternatives to land filling such as recycling and composting.  The 2016 salary range for this position is $61,716 to $84,638 plus an excellent fringe benefit package.

Business Management, Engineering, or related field; minimum of five years'

The Town of New Glarus is looking for a Deputy Clerk/Plan Administrator. The successful candidate will be a take-charge, detail-oriented person with a strong background in customer relations, administration, finance, minute taking and have proven organizational skills.  The Deputy Clerk/Plan Administrator provides support for the Town Clerk-Treasurer, Town Board, Plan Commission, Parks Commission and other committees. 

This position requires an understanding of parliamentary procedures, elections, ordinances, maps and legal descriptions.
