Property Assessment Specialist (PAS) & PAS Journey (15-01703)

Are you ready for a challenge?  Come join a team of professionals in a challenging and rewarding position as a Property Assessment Specialist (PAS) or PAS Journey at the Wisconsin Department of Revenue. These positions perform appraisals and assessments on diverse property types across the state.

These positions offer the opportunity to work with a range of people, including local government officials, taxpayers, municipalities, professional assessment and appraisal organizations, etc.  Currently we have vacancies in the following Equalization (EQ) District Offices:  Eau Claire, Madison and Milwaukee.   We anticipate filling additional positions in the following EQ district offices:  Green Bay, Wausau, or another in Milwaukee. 

Special Requirement:  Must attain Wisconsin Assessor Certification at the Assessor II level within six months of appointment.

Well Qualified Applicants: will have a two or four-year degree with a focus in real estate or other business field supplemented with coursework or work experience in real estate concepts, assessment, valuation, and/or appraisal. Applicants should have strong analytical and writing skills. Knowledge of real and personal property appraisal, and knowledge of mass appraisal valuation systems is desirable. Applicants should be proficient in the use of electronic applications and have effective interpersonal communication skills. Desirable designations include: Assessor certification, a Certified Residential Appraiser, a Certified General Appraiser, or other recognized credential such as the International Association of Assessing Officer's Certified Assessment Evaluator.

Salary (annually): PAS $41,600 - $54,080; PAS Journey $47,840 - $60,320 depending on qualifications. The State of Wisconsin has an excellent benefits package.

The Town of La Pointe is located on beautiful Madeline Island in Lake Superior, a 25-minute ferry ride from Bayfield, Wisconsin.  It is the largest island in the Apostle Islands archipelago, the rest of which comprise part of the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore.

There are around 300 permanent residents on the island, but the summertime population exceeds 3,000.  The Town has 14 full-time and 18 part-time employees.  In addition to maintaining roads and parks, the Town also operates a police and fire department, EMS, airport, recycling facility, library, and zoning department.

Assessor RFP (Request for Proposal) - The Town of Montrose in Dane County, population 1097, is accepting proposals for Town Assessor to begin services January 1, 2016. The Town of Montrose has an assessed value of $124,352,600, 435 land, 29 land, 20 commercial, 34 personal property, 684 agricultural properties, and 375 undeveloped properties. Bids must include all statutory assessor duties, Open Book and Board of Review as prescribed by law. Proposals must include proof of current State Certification, proposed contract, listing of qualifications, including experience with other municipalities, certificate of liability, automobile liability, and worker's compensation insurance. The assessor will be responsible for maintaining the assessment role and individual property classifications and should be able to perform possible future revaluations. RFP's are available in the Clerk's office at 1341 Diane Avenue. Proposals are due by October 30, 2015. Completed proposals may be mailed to the Town Clerk at 1341 Diane Avenue, Belleville WI 53508 marked as Assessor Proposal. The Town expects to enter into a contract in a form similar to a State contract provided by the Department of Revenue. The Town of Montrose reserves the right to reject any and all proposals.


Finance Supervisor Opening - Sister Bay, WI

A mature and historic waterfront community, the Village of Sister Bay is located on Green Bay on the Door County Peninsula. Population of 900 expands to 5000 during the May – October tourist season. The Finance Supervisor is hired by and reports to the Village Administrator. The Village FY 2015 combined budget is approximately $4.3 million. The Finance Supervisor is responsible for all financial matters including accounting, preparation of government reports, treasury management, accounts payable/receivable, budget preparation, fiscal analysis/projections, benefits administration, insurance coordination and risk management.

This position requires experience in financial administration, accounting and budgeting. A Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, public administration or business administration plus five years of professional experience in finance, or the equivalent, is required. Ability to prepare complex financial reports, supervise work of others, perform fiscal planning, provide financial advice and communicate effectively is essential; thorough knowledge of laws and policies governing municipalities important.  Skill with Excel spreadsheets required; experience with Caselle Software sought.

UW-Extension’s Local Government Center Hiring Budget Finance Specialist

The Local Government Center is looking for an individual to teach, research and provide leadership in the fields of local Government finance and budgeting.
Continuing fiscal strain is transforming the dynamics of finance at all levels of local government. Applied research and outreach education is needed to better understand the impacts of these changes. Local Government Center faculty and staff provide support to elected and appointed officials, as well as professionals working for Wisconsin counties, cities, villages and towns. This education helps Wisconsin communities and those that serve those communities make the best-informed decisions about the quality of life for all residents.
This position provides leadership, direction, and coordination of University of Wisconsin-Extension applied research and outreach education efforts focused on local finance and budgeting. These efforts include planning and delivery of research-based educational programs, directly and through county, tribal and regional Cooperative Extension faculty and staff, using a variety of traditional and innovative means. This position will also endeavor to meet local needs and interests by effectively collaborating with local government organizations, associations, and other interest groups. This position will maintain a programmatic relationship that is centered in and directed by the Local Government Center and will work collaboratively with other Cooperative Extension program areas, as well as faculty and staff at other University of Wisconsin System campuses.

1994 Ford/Medtech Ambulance For Sale

This is a front line ambulance currently in service as a primary 911 response squad. There’s 72408 miles on the chassis. The front axle is rated to 4600 lbs. and the rear axle to 8710 lbs.

It’s been very well cared for and is one of the three ambulances we run with. These squads are primarily used for 911 responses. We average 365 calls a year.
