The Town of Greenville, WI (2014 pop.10,773) located in the dynamic Fox Cities/Appleton area is seeking to fill the position of Town Clerk. This person will work cooperatively with the Town Administrator, and municipal Department Heads as a key member of a Core Leadership Team. Position offers a great opportunity to invest and take active ownership in local government administration, with possible expanding responsibilities in this rapidly growing community.
Requires strong knowledge and experience in managing the statutory State of Wisconsin requirements of the Clerk, including conducting municipal elections, legal noticing, licensing, and keeping records of proceedings with some night time meetings. Personnel benefit administration experience a plus.
A successful applicant will have experience with interactive web site development and strengthening social media communication with residents. Excellent computer skills are a must with proficiency in MS office applications. Expected educational qualifications include Bachelor’s Degree in public or business administration with 3-5 years of experience in executing the statutory requirements of the Clerk, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Annual salary range is estimated at $50,438-$68,240 DOQ with very good fringe benefit package, including WI Retirement and life, health and dental insurance. This position requires experience in financial administration, accounting and budgeting. A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, public administration or business administration plus five years of professional experience in finance, or the equivalent, is required. Ability to prepare complex financial reports, supervise work of others, perform fiscal planning, provide financial advice and communicate effectively is essential; thorough knowledge of laws and policies governing municipalities important. Skill with Excel spreadsheets required; experience with Caselle Software sought.
