At WTA, our team adheres to a “starfish” policy. When a starfish loses a leg, it still functions just like a starfish because the remaining legs work that much harder. The other legs pitch in, while the new leg grows back. It never fails that on occasion something happens that causes a team member to need others to pitch in for them - they get sick; a family situation arises; or, the work load is just overwhelming.
During these uncertain times, town officials and staff are being asked to “pitch in” in unprecedented ways. You will be some of the unsung “starfish” that don’t get enough credit. WTA thanks you for your efforts and pledges that we will be there pitching in for you to the greatest extent we possibly can.

The National Association of Towns and Townships (NATaT) contracts with The Ferguson Group (TFG) to assist member states and towns with federal legislative advocacy. As a service to NATaT and other municipal clients, they have developed a COVID-19 web page.
The FMLA and sick leave provisions passed in the second federal stimulus bill (Families First Coronavirus Response Act) do apply to town government. Please see the TFG explanation in this memo.

Board of Review Training Webinar
Due to the cancellation of 3 district meetings and decreased attendance at 2 district meetings, Carol recorded a Board of Review training webinar for registrants of those locations with the help of the UW-Madison/Extension Local Government Center. In addition to their willingness to help us accomplish the webinar, they are now graciously allowing us to offer the webinar to all WTA member towns and villages at the same district meeting charge. If you would like to purchase access to this webinar, please send $25 per person made payable to Wisconsin Towns Association to our office address C/O Karisa BOR Video. Please provide both your USPS and email addresses with your payment. Karisa will email a password and instructions on how to access the video. She will also send you a hard copy packet of the materials to the address provided.
Wisconsin Election Commission Subgrant Training
The required WEC subgrant training that was included in the afternoon portion of the District meetings will be accomplished via webinar. A date will be announced as soon as it can be coordinated with WEC.
